Charter
» As a member of Risen you will be required to uphold all rules set forth by the Guild Officers. The following will apply to all members:
1. You should be a skilled team player. The Risen tag above your head means that you're a high quality player that knows their class, role in a group or raid, and how to adapt to new situations. You may be a high level, but that means nothing if you don't have the skills to back it up.
2. Don't bitch and moan about stupid crap like loot and dying (we all die lots!). Loot is a secondary component of WoW. First and foremost we're here to experience new things, working out new strategies and putting the slap down on raid encounters. So if you bitch and moan you'll soon find yourself out in the cold. Everyone likes to get loot but if you miss out, just remember that there will always be more. You should be happy that your guildmate got something cool and that it's gone to making the guild as a whole that little bit stronger.
3. Decent play times! We're not a hardcore raiding guild (although many of us come from that background), so we'll only raid 2-3 times a week, mostly on weekends. However, we expect people to attend at least 50% of the raids that we schedule in advance. We also expect people to be on at least a couple of nights a week.
4. Ask questions. No one will think that you're stupid if you don't know the strategy for a raid. They will think that you're stupid if you mess up during the raid because you were too shy to ask one of your guildmates.
5. Listen and pay attention to the officers and experienced players. If you don't pay attention when people are discussing tactics, you could cause the guild to waste tens of man hours everyone has invested in the raid. Class specific abilities should be discussed with other members of your class so you can work out whose responsibility it is for the raid. Don't leave things to chance. Raids require everyone to know their place and to perform quickly and effectively when the time comes.
6. Raiding requires patience. You MUST be able to sit still during downtime, raid preparations, wipe outs, etc. If you're the sort of person who likes to run around, then you'll cause more problems than you're worth.
7. Visit the guild forums daily. Raid details, announcements, and strategies are all there and we expect you to become an active part of our community.
8. Have a sense of humour. We're all here to have fun and that includes teasing each other, joking around and generally acting goofy. The other side of the same coin is knowing when to get serious and shut up.
9. Treat everyone with understanding and respect. You may find yourself in situations where you're becoming angry or frustrated. Just stay calm and remember that what you do and say reflects not just on you but also the guild tag floating above your head. When you're rude and loud it makes the entire guild look stupid. This includes treating pickup group members with respect.
10. Help your guildmates out when you can. Everything that makes a member stronger also makes the entire guild stronger. If they need new items (drops, crafted items, mats, etc.), try and help them out. No doubt you'll want help at some point as well.
11. Everyone is expected to work within the systems of the guild; this includes DKP and raid rotations. Before joining Risen ask the officers about these policies. If you don't like the answers and you can't accept them, then tell us early and we'll remove your application since you won't last long in the guild anyway.
12. Your main character is the character that you applied with. We approved that character based on class needs and not your alts. If at some later time you want to swap to another level 70 alt, you will need to ask the officers who reserve the right to approve or reject the swap based on class needs at the time.
13. You must not have a character in another raiding guild on our server.
14. What happens in the guild stays in the guild. Do not discuss guild strategies, tactics etc with anyone outside of the guild. Also, don't distribute add-ons which our members have created for the guild and have asked to hold internally.
